Exercise is very simple and can be done in many different ways.
When you exercise, your body is what you're working to improve. Deciding on your training route can make the difference in achieving your goals. A change up in routine is always the best way for progression. Three different types of training you can do are for Endurance, Strength, and Power.
Muscular endurance is the ability of a muscle or group of muscles to maintain repeated contractions against a resistance for an extended period of time.
Endurance would be ideal for people who need to move for long periods of time. Rep Range 10-20
Muscular strength is the amount of force a muscle can produce in one repetition. Muscle strength is measured during the muscular contraction. Your muscle fiber size and their ability to signal nerves to activate muscle fibers are related to muscle strength. Muscular strength would be best for people who need to become stronger. Rep Range 5-8
Muscle power is the ability to expel as much energy as possible in the shortest possible time. Motor unit recruitment is a way to measure the amount of motor neurons that are activated in a particular muscle. Muscular power is best for people who need that explosive power. Rep Range 1-3
These training types when used correctly will progress you toward achieving your goals at a much faster pace. Understanding what your goals are will best help you choose what is needed.
